A recent video has caught the attention of Malaysians and Singaporeans alike after the Johor Region Two Marine Police Force held a rendezvous meeting at sea with their counterparts across the Causeway.
In the video posted by @polismarinw2, the Johor Region Two Marine Police Force can be seen holding a meeting and iftar (breaking fast) together with the Singapore Police Coast Guard.


Strengthening maritime ties
Held on 10 March, the programme aimed to strengthen friendship and strategic cooperation between the two agencies in ensuring the safety and sovereignty of Malaysia-Singapore waters are maintained.
According to the caption of the video, cooperation is important in addressing various security threats in border waters, especially with the increase in boat movements during festive seasons.
“This cooperation is also crucial in tackling various security threats in border waters such as cross-border crime, smuggling of contraband, the entry of illegal immigrants, and the rise in boat movements during festive seasons,” they wrote.


Also present were ACP Zulkifli bin Mahmood, Deputy Commander (RO) of the Marine Police Force Bukit Aman, and ACP Hj. Noor Azman bin Hj. Jamal, Commander of the Johor Region Two Marine Police Force, along with several officers and personnel from the Johor Region Two Marine Police Force.
“May this spirit of cooperation continue to grow stronger in ensuring peace and security in the waters of both countries,” they added.
