Just yesterday (September 7), police made a shocking discovery when they found a woman’s body in the backseat of a car in Ipoh, Perak.

The body was found by a patrol team from the Simpang Pulai Police Station under the Ipoh District Police Headquarters (IPD), after they came across a suspicious vehicle during their crime prevention rounds in Taman Desa Pakatan.

Nine suspects were successfully arrested

During the arrest, a scuffle broke out between the suspects and police, during which one officer was shot in the abdomen with his own gun by one of the suspects.

According to China Press, nine people in total (including a woman) were brought to court today (September 8), where a seven-day remand order was approved until September 14.

Five men and a woman were arrested yesterday, while the other three were nabbed this morning. It was also reported that all nine suspects are related to each other.

The only woman among the suspects is being held under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, while the other eight men are detained under Section 307 of the Act for attempted murder.

The officer was also stabbed by the suspect

As reported earlier, police tried to stop the suspects’ car, but they sped off, leading to a chase that ended in an oil palm plantation.

During the struggle, an officer was stabbed and shot with his own gun. He is now in stable condition and receiving treatment at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) in Ipoh.

Meanwhile, a post-mortem will be carried out at the HRPB Forensic Unit to confirm the victim’s identity and cause of death.
