An elderly woman was killed after being struck by a driver who was reportedly rushing to drop off his child at school last Sunday (11 January) near Sentul UTC in Kuala Lumpur.
According to the 85-year-old’s daughter, her mother had overcome cancer 10 years ago and had been living a healthy lifestyle.

An elderly woman was fatally hit by a driver who was sending his child to school
In an interview with Sin Chew Daily, the woman’s daughter recalled that on the day of the incident, her mother had gone out to buy groceries. While waiting at an intersection to cross the road, she was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
Reports say the driver allegedly failed to stop after the first impact and continued driving, running her over a second time, before finally exiting the vehicle to check on the woman.
“My mother suffered fractures and internal bleeding on the spot and kept vomiting blood. The driver only stopped to check up on her because another driver in front of him forced him out of the car.
“Our family is devastated by her sudden passing. We had hoped she could enjoy her life after beating cancer, but instead her life was cut short by an irresponsible driver,” the daughter said.
