A man has died while another person was injured after a Lamborghini that they were in skidded and crashed before catching on fire at KM 57.1 of Jalan Bentong-Karak yesterday (June 30).
The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) shared that they received a call about the accident at about 9:32am. Personnel from the Bentong Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the location after the call.
Based on a report by Buletin TV3, the yellow Lamborghini involved is believed to have crashed into a drain before catching on fire.
“There were 2 victims, with 1 of them that was trapped in the overturned vehicle being confirmed dead by medical personnel from the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM). Another victim, who suffered injuries was sent to the hospital by members of the public,” JBPM explained.
The police later confirmed that the driver who lost his life in the accident is a local 62-year-old man named Fung Swee Yen, whereas the passenger, who is a 47-year-old local woman, is being treated at Bentong Hospital.
“The female passenger suffered burns on her hands and feet but is now in a stable condition,” Bentong District Police Chief, Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar shared.
This case is now being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
