Good samaritans who were fishing near the Penang Bridge leapt into action to rescue a man who had fallen into the sea, successfully saving his life.
According to a report by the Bomba Channel Facebook page, this incident took place on Sunday (9 November) at about 10:03 AM, at kilometre 2.2 of the Penang bridge, heading towards Penang island.

It is believed that the man had fallen into the sea in an attempt to take his own life after leaving his Proton Wira on the bridge.
They wrote, “In an incident at about 10:03 AM, the 48-year-old victim was detected to have left a car on the bridge before falling. The victim’s luck, on the other hand, was good as the quick action of the public, who were fishing in the nearby area, successfully saved the man from the water.”
“The Perai Fire and Rescue Team (BBP), which arrived at the location, acted to calm the victim before handing him over to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for further action. The operation ended at 11:26 AM.”
