373 passengers were stranded in a monorail that had stopped functioning this morning (20 November) in Kuala Lumpur, with one of the passengers passing out, leading firefighters from the Titiwangsa Fire and Rescue Station to step in.
The Fire and Rescue Department Malaysia (JBPM) official Facebook page shared how firefighters from the Titiwangsa Fire and Rescue Department were called in to assist in safely transporting the passengers into a substitute train, as well as to help a passenger who had passed out.

They wrote, “An incident involving a public transport vehicle, a monorail, carrying 373 passengers, had become stranded on the rails on the route between the Jalan Sultan Ismail Monorail Station and the Chow Kit Monorail Station, in Kuala Lumpur. The impact of the incident caused all the passengers to become trapped in the train, and one of the passengers involved to faint.”
“The Titiwangsa Fire and Rescue Station team was mobilised to the location of the incident upon receiving a call at 9:39 AM. With the assistance of the Monorail management, all the victims involved were successfully transferred to a replacement train and then disembarked near the Jalan Sultan Ismail Monorail Station.”

The passenger who fainted was provided with initial treatment and handed over to medical personnel from the Ministry of Health (MOH) for further treatment.
The entire rescue operation was completed by 11:30 AM.
