3 teenage boys were arraigned at the Parit Magistrate’s Court today (21 November) on charges of causing harassment, distress, fear or alarm to a 13-year-old fellow male student in Perak.
According to a report by Sinar Harian, all three 16-year-old boys pleaded not guilty after the charge of pushing the victim and pulling down the victim’s trousers in front of a crowd was read out before Magistrate Nurul Izalina Rajaai.

They requested a minimum bail amount
This offence was allegedly committed in the hall of a secondary school in Parit at about 8:30 AM on Friday (14 November).
The charge was framed under Section 507B of the Penal Code for causing harassment, distress, fear or alarm, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, which provides for a prison sentence of up to 3 years or a fine or both, if convicted.
All 3 of the boys pleaded for a minimum bail amount to be granted on the grounds that they are still in school and also taking into account their respective families’ incomes. The court then allowed each of them to be bailed at RM500 each.
The mention of the case has been set for Tuesday (16 December) to obtain a moral report from the Social Welfare Department (JKM).
