In a report by Oddity Central, Xiaoting previously worked as a waitress, until she was exposed to the Mukbang culture that was making waves on the Internet. Despite originating from South Korea, the Mukbang live stream immediately spread worldwide, and Xiao Ting decided to give it a try by renting a studio room for her Mukbang live streams.

Mukbang was meant to be her side hustle but Xiao Ting changed her mind after her viewership skyrocketed, and she started to see potential in it as a career.
