A man suspected of committing sexual harassment at the exit of Kajang MRT Station, as previously circulated on social media, was arrested by police on Saturday (4 April).
Kajang District Police Chief Naazron Abdul Yusof said the 24‑year‑old local man was detained at his home in Taman West Country. He added that the suspect will be brought before the Kajang Magistrate’s Court to apply for a remand order to facilitate further investigations.

“Members of the public who have any information related to this incident are urged to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Nor Atiqah Anuar, at 013‑794 8922 to assist with the investigation,” he said in a statement on Sunday (5 April).
Victim urged others to remain vigilant
Earlier, the alleged victim shared her experience on social media and urged others in the area to remain vigilant. In her post, she alleged that the man had touched her buttocks while she was seated.
“Girls who are sitting alone in public places, please always stay alert. Look left, right, front, and back. I had gone out with my friends, and at one point we had to split up at the MRT, so I was alone at Kajang MRT Gate A while waiting for my parents to pick me up,” she wrote.
She said the seating area had no back barrier, leaving her exposed. While she was focused on her phone, she was unexpectedly touched. Upon turning around, she saw a man squatting behind her, suggesting that he may have been watching her for some time.
She only fully realised what had happened after the physical contact occurred. The incident took place in a highly visible location directly in front of an escalator, where many people were present, making the act even more brazen.

The suspect reportedly fled immediately after she turned around, leaving her with no opportunity to record his face.
