A 27-year-old man and a 19-year-old boy were arrested after they were believed to have pointed an imitation pistol at a man following a car accident in Taman Desa, Kuala Lumpur, on Tuesday (July 2).

According to a report by BERNAMA, the Brickfields District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood, said that the incident was reported by a 28-year-old victim at 12:55am.

They reported that the Honda City they were driving had been hit by a red Toyota Yaris, on the right side mirror, at about 11pm (Tuesday, July 1).

“An argument between the 2 parties broke out, and the driver of the Toyota Yaris allegedly pulled out a black pistol before pointing it at the victim,” Assistant Commissioner Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood explained.

The gun wasn’t real

Investigations found that the weapon was an imitation pistol purchased through the TikTok application and owned by one of the suspects.

Both suspects have since been remanded for 4 days until Saturday (July 5) to assist in investigations under Section 506 of the Penal Code and Section 36(1) of the Arms Act 1960.
