The sacrifices some parents make for their children can often be unfathomable. While each parent tries to do what is best for their kids, the adverse effects of certain choices are sometimes a painful result of an intent to achieve better.

A recent TikTok video has been making waves online after one Malaysian mother named Nasyila shared a sad yet touching moment between her one-year-old son, Harraz, and her husband to her TikTok page @nrlnasyila_. Depicting a sequence of events, Nasyila showed how her young child temporarily forgot who his father was after the latter went to train at a police academy for four months.

At the start of the video, Nasyila displayed how her son, upon the day of needing to release his father to his training centre, did not want to let his old man go.

Four months later, on graduation day itself, the young kid trotted towards his father but seemed to not recognise who he was. Coaxing the child slowly yet calmly, Nasyila’s husband tried to talk to Harraz, only to have him walk away after a few seconds.

“When we sent his father off, Harraz didn’t know how to walk yet. Now he knows, and he was running around. Even his father was shocked by the fact that he could run,” wrote Nasyila in a caption across the screen of the video.

Following the toddler around for a brief moment, Harraz eventually breaks into tears, somewhat remembering who his father is, before getting picked up by his dad.

“Don’t be sad, my love. The four months have ended, and by God’s will, papa will always be near us moving forward,” wrote Nasyila at the end of her video.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Nasyila stated that she was initially sad to see her son’s reaction to his father after her husband went to the Malaysian Police Training Centre in Air Hitam, Negeri Sembilan, adding that the duo had a very close relationship prior to that.

“My son probably didn’t recognise his dad because of his physical changes after he went away,” said Nasyila to WORLD OF BUZZ.

Commenting further, Nasyila hopes that her husband and son will go back to the way they used to be, as things have improved since he returned home.

Understanding Nasyila’s emotions, many users also commented on how upsetting it must be for her husband to see Harraz’s reaction, as the beginning of the clip clearly showed how close they were, with the kid not being able to let go of his father. However, one user also said that the child may have known that the man was his father, but might have been sulking because he hadn’t seen him for so long.

“I think he was sulking, he knows his dad. But he was sad that he left him for a long time. So after he was tired of sulking, he started to cry. My child was also like this,” comforted one user.

Some sacrifices can be the most painful, but we’re glad that Harraz and his daddy will not have to be separated for that amount of time again.
