The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) in Pasir Puteh recently assisted in transferring a male patient weighing over 160 kilograms from Tengku Anis Hospital (HTA) to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital (HRPZ II) in Kota Bharu early Sunday morning.
Pasir Puteh District APM Officer, Captain (PA) Nik Mohd Nor Nik Mat, said they received an emergency call around 1 am due to limitations with the hospital ambulance, which was unable to accommodate the 36-year-old patient’s weight.
“We immediately deployed five personnel, including one officer, to the location and used a lorry to ensure the patient could be transferred safely and efficiently.”
“The decision to use a lorry was based on logistical needs and safety considerations to ensure the transfer to HRPZ II could be completed without any risk or delay,” he said when contacted by Sinar Harian.

He added that cooperation between APM and hospital staff also helped expedite the transfer process in accordance with established safety procedures.
He further stated that the swift action and professionalism of the involved personnel demonstrated APM’s commitment to providing the best service to the community, especially in emergency situations.
