For many of us, cockroaches are the bane of our existence. They’re probably the worst creatures to ever roam the Earth, and it certainly doesn’t help that they’re also the most resilient!
For example, did you know that these nasty bugs are the most likely to survive a nuclear disaster?!
Cockroaches are honestly one of the creepiest, grossest insects on the planet, and we’re sure many of you out there feel the exact same way, which is why we decided to come up with a list of things everyone who share the same disgust and fear of cockroaches can relate to!
1. Embracing for the worst when you hear faint scratching sounds at night
Because your mind automatically thinks: cockroaches
2. Feeling your soul escape your body when you see those disgusting beings
3. And when these gross creatures start to fly…
4. You can sense the slightest bit of movement in any environment
Well, at least one good thing came from your fear and hatred of cockroaches! You’ve probably gained expert-level ninja skills thanks to years of keeping an eye out for those nasty bugs!
5. Sprinting faster than Usain Bolt as soon as you spot one
Trust and believe that whenever you sense the presence of those demonic creatures, you’ll be the first one to run out of the room, quicker than lightning!
If only we could run like this all the time. We’d be so much fitter!
6. When you see a cockroach but everyone in your home is asleep
7. You’d rather run away from it than having to kill it
…because you really believe that ignorance is bliss.
8. Stuffing towels under your door to make sure those critters (which you ran away from) won’t sneak up on you
But when killing it really had to be done…
9. You Feel like a traumatised warrior after killing a cockroach yourself
It’s absolute horror whenever we realise we have to kill cockroaches on our own, but it’s even worse when we realise THERE’S NO INSECTICIDE NEARBY!
So, we use whatever blunt object that’s nearby and repeatedly smash those creepy insects (while crying uncontrollably).
And after the whole ordeal’s over, we honestly feel like we’ve aged about 10 years from all the trauma and stress.
10. That immense paranoia after spotting one, thinking another one will crawl up your body at any giving second
You make yourself jump thinking something crawled up your body when it was just probably your hair or clothing.
11. Your friends always kacau you
We all have that one friend who always exploits the heck out of our cockroach phobia! One typical thing many of them do is either throw a fake cockroach at you, or carry a dead one by its antenna and chase you around with it!
Ok lah, we get the joke! Please get that nasty thing away from us!
Why do we even call these people our friends?!
12. Not knowing why you’re deathly afraid cockroaches in the first place
Honestly, most of us have no clue how we even developed our hatred and fear of these creatures. Did we learn it from other people, or is there a good, inherent reason we fear them? They don’t bite anyway!
13. Putting your legs up when you see one scurrying on the floor
Picture this: you’re sitting on the couch, minding your own business when suddenly, one of those horrible bugs decides to make an appearance and sprints across the room!
What’s your first reaction? Put your legs up on the couch and pray they don’t ever come close to you.
14. Your parents constantly scold you for being so scared
“How you gonna live on your own when you cannot even kill a cockroach ah?!”
Relax! We’ve obviously thought ahead and will find partners that aren’t afraid of cockroaches so they can kill them for us!
15. All in all, we can always agree that cockroaches are the grossest, ugliest, despicable, and most unwanted creatures on Earth
And we can only hope to ever get rid of it.
