In Malaysia, sunroofs on cars are still popular concepts and sometimes, you can see many parents allowing their kids to stick their heads and bodies out of these panels on the car’s roof. This is actually really dangerous and should not be used in this way, otherwise, a serious tragedy might occur, just like what happened to this 13-year-old teen in Jiangxi, China.
According to Sina, the accident happened on Sunday (Oct 28) at about 5pm in Xinyu city in the south-eastern province of Jiangxi. A passenger in another car behind saw the 13-year-old boy sticking out his head and body at the sunroof of the car on a fairly empty expressway.
The passenger took a video of the journey and this video has been circulating on social media platforms as it shows the moment that the accident occurred. The video shows the passenger and driver in the other car talking when they suddenly notice a low clearance barrier ahead. They were joking that something bad could happen if the boy actually hit the sign when suddenly, their banter came true and the boy crashed into the vehicle height bar and slumped over. OMG!
The passengers in the car gave gasps of shock and horror when they saw this and immediately stopped the car. However, the car with the boy continued cruising on for a few metres before realising something was wrong. After that, the video shows the driver of the car with the boy stopping on the shoulder of the road and making a phone call.
It was reported that the teenager died at the scene after he crashed into the barrier. The police are currently investigating the case. Meanwhile, netizens were shocked by the incident that claimed a young boy’s life and they criticised the driver for allowing such risky behaviour. A few of them also said that they often see this happen not only in cars but sometimes children would even stick their hands or heads out of school buses, which is equally dangerous.
