Due to not wanting to go to school after he had stepped in cat faeces, a student was willing to make up a story about almost being kidnapped before filing a false police report on Thursday (11 September).
According to a report by Sinar Harian, the Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, shared that his department received a report regarding the false incident at 9:22 AM, and explained that the 13-year-old student claimed to have been kidnapped while walking to school before informing his father about the matter.

A 13-year-old student in Shah Alam filed a fake police report about being kidnapped so that he could skip school
“The student and his father appeared at the Criminal Investigation Division of the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters (IPD) to give a statement regarding the attempted kidnapping case. However, interrogations found that the report made by the victim was completely untrue,”
“The student admitted that the (report) was done as an excuse to give to the victim’s father, after he did not want to go to school because his school shoes got dirty with cat faeces,” he said.
The investigation into the student in question has not been continued as he is still in school, but a stern warning was given to him and his father.
Do not make false reports!
Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim has since reminded the public not to make false reports as it is a serious offence that can be investigated and convicted under Section 182 of the Penal Code, which provides a prison sentence of up to 6 months, or a fine of RM2,000, or both.
