13yo Girl Tragically Dies After Getting Run Over by Lorry While Crossing the Road in Johor

An underage girl tragically died after being run over by a lorry while crossing the road on the North-South Expressway in Johor.

In a viral dashcam footage, the underage girl was seen attempting to cross the busy road with two other people with her. Unfortunately, the girl couldn’t evade the high-speed lorry and was killed on the spot.

In an official statement by PDRM, the police said the accident took place on March 21 around 11 AM.

The lorry was driven by a 60-year-old man who was headed from Johor Bahru to Kulai. According to the chief police of North Johor, Balveer Singh said the victim was a 13-year-old girl who suddenly crossed from the right side of the road.

The driver was unharmed but the girl suffered significant injury on her head, which led to her death.

The accident also caused many drivers to slow down to check on the situation. The matter is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1987 for dangerous driving causing death.
