155 climbers became the victims of a flash flood on Mount Kinabalu early Friday morning.
In a video that went viral on social media, the climbers can be seen trying to descend amidst strong currents due to earlier torrential rain.
It is understood that this particular video was taken 7km from the Sayat-Sayat checkpoint.
According to news reports, a total of 155 climbers were safely guided by the SAR team, MOSAR and mountain guides who had ropes installed at the site.

According to Sabah Parks, the flash floods began around 6.15 am, when rain hit the summit area, causing a rapid surge of water to sweep across the KM7 section, one of the final stretches before the peak.
