The oldest Covid-19 patient from China has recovered after six days of treatment at a hospital in Wuhan.
According to Independent, the patient is 103 years old and is reported to be the oldest Covid-19 patient to ever recover in China, with the previous record-holder being 101 years old.
She was diagnosed with Covid-19 on 1st March and was said to be in critical condition. However, she recovered within less than a week and was discharged on 10th March.
The grandmother was able to recover so quickly because she did not have any “underlying health conditions” although she did have mild chronic bronchitis.
When she was admitted to the Liyuan Affiliated Hospital of Tongji Medical College, the patient found it hard to communicate with the medics. During her treatment, nurses took turns feeding her and changing diapers.
They took care of her round-the-clock and gave her nutrition therapy. The nurses also noted that she loved compliments and would smile and nod every time they told her she looked pretty.
Remember to keep yourself healthy and practise social distancing to lower the risk of infection.
