More often than not, the people’s representatives, also known as ADUNs will go to their constituency to talk to the people there to find out what they need and how their lives can be improved.
Recently, a Melaka ADUN by the name of Mohd Noor Helmy shared a one-of-a-kind interaction that he had with a mak cik on TikTok.
In a 2-minute clip, we see the mak cik making a request to the ADUN for little ducklings. When asked about why she wanted them, she said:
“It’s for healing. Just want to look at the little ducks while I rest.”
He then confirmed with her the amount of ducklings she wanted. She replied with the number and said that baby ducks and geese are expensive which prompted the ADUN to say that they will not be giving geese as it’s expensive.

The mak cik replied by saying that it’s fine and will probably buy geese by themselves when they sell the grown-up ducks.
Marvelled by her planning, the ADUN said that he thought she would cook duck rendang for him to which she says:
“For that, you need to wait 2 to 3 years.”
She then instructed him to go buy the ducklings and send them to her.
On the day of the delivery, the ADUN was at her place when she received the fluffy yellow babies and she was so thankful. When seeing this, he said:
“I’ve never done this before. I’m a people’s rep and most of the time, people ask for help, ask for welfare but mak cik, you’re the only one asking for ducks.”
The ADUN then asked her if she already picked names for them and she said that she would name one of them after him. Hearing this, he burst into laughter.
The video ends with the mak cik happily touching the ducklings and putting them into a cage.
This is certainly a very funny interaction. We hope that the ducklings will go big and strong in their new home.
