A woman will pay the medical expenses for a puppy while hoping that an adopter will come forward for it in Sungai Petani, Kedah, after the poor puppy was spotted being dragged on the road by an elderly man on a motorcycle.

The woman, Ginny Teoh, shared that she will be returning to Singapore next week; hence, she is unable to take the puppy with her. She said that she will pay for the puppy’s medical expenses as it sustained serious injuries due to the elderly man’s cruel actions and hopes that someone will give the puppy a loving home.

She wrote, “Help! This happened at 4.22pm (June 15), in Sungai Petani, Kedah! Kind Sungai Petani people, is there anyone here who can adopt this poor furbaby? The vet estimated that she is 4 to 5 months old, she’s female, and she was quite docile when I rescued her.”

“Since I don’t live in Sungai Petani, as I will be returning to Singapore next week, I cannot take in this little furbaby. I have taken her to the vet for a check-up and she will be staying there for a week (I will pay the medical expenses).”

Dashcam footage of the dragging incident

Ginny also included dashcam footage of when the elderly man was spotted dragging the poor puppy on the road.

In the video, the elderly man could be seen on a motorcycle while the puppy lay almost lifeless as it was chained and being dragged behind the motorcycle.

A kind road user, who was in traffic in front of the elderly man, stopped his vehicle and confronted the elderly man. This led Ginny, as well as other road users, to also stop their vehicles and rescue the puppy from the elderly man.

A multiracial crowd gathered to rescue the puppy from the elderly man, who was reluctant to let the puppy go. However, he eventually left the puppy with the crowd of people and rode away.

The puppy is currently admitted at a veterinary clinic in Sungai Petani, where Ginny had taken it for treatment immediately after the incident.

She is seeking a kind person to take the puppy in and treat it with love.

We genuinely hope that the puppy finds a forever home, and a huge kudos to everyone who stepped in to rescue the puppy!
