When it comes to seafood, there’s probably an abundance of eateries where you can get them, especially in the Klang Valley, but seldom do you find one that lets you get your hands a little dirty.

Shell Out is a seafood restaurant that lets you enjoy seafood in a unique way. With several locations in the Klang Valley, Shell Out serves delicious and mouthwatering fresh seafood in an amazing atmosphere where you can spend quality time with your friends and family.

Now, Shell Out has been around for some time now but we’re here to remind you why it’s always a great experience.  Recently, the team at WORLD OF BUZZ had the chance to have dinner at Shell Out and we must say it was certainly a unique experience (for some of us, it was our first time). We visited the Publika branch and tried out the various seafood dishes available there.

Here are some reasons why we think it’s definitely a must-try and worth a re-visit:

Get down and messy!

Although it’s nothing new, the experience of getting a little messy with your hands while eating great seafood is something that everyone must try at least once. Being able to just dig into freshly prepared seafood with your hands is certainly a satisfying sensation. We would highly recommend their butter garlic scallops!

If, however, you worry about messing up your outfit, Shell Out provides gloves and bibs so you can eat but still keep your hands and clothes clean!

Fresh seafood!

Speaking of great seafood, it would just be a sin if we didn’t bring up how fresh the ingredients were. Sitting at the table while the Shell Out staff prepared our food on the table, our mouths were literally watering. When we took the first bite, our tastebuds were treated with an explosion of flavours that certainly blended well with the seafood. For those wondering, the seafood here is so fresh and there is not a hint of the fishy seafood smell.

You can also choose your sauces for the seafood to be cooked with. We had the chance to try out a few of their recommended sauces which were, butter garlic, and curry to name a few.

Sweet potato fries and mango juice

Crispy and juicy chicken wings

Wide variety of sauces to choose from.

Fried bliss

Apart from serving delicious seafood, Shell Out also offers fried items on their menu like their sweet potato fries and chicken wings. Both the fries and chicken wings certainly did not disappoint. The sweetness of the sweet potato fries is definitely something different from your average french fries. Not to forget how crispy and juicy their chicken wings were when they were served to us.

Refreshing thirst quenchers

Shell Out also serves a variety of drinks. From a wide range of soft drinks to juices and tea, the drink menu offers many different beverages to choose from. They even have fresh coconut water!

The atmosphere of the place was also one of our favourite things apart from the delicious food. With a very cosy and spacious place, it’s the perfect location if you want to have a team dinner or a family dinner.

Very spacious and cosy atmosphere.

A great place for team dinner.

Safety is the main priority

Shell Out also follows all the necessary SOPs very carefully. We were required to wear facemasks in order to enter the place and our temperatures were taken before entering. They also provided the QR codes for us to check in with the MySejahtera app. Tables were sanitised before we were seated and the staff and servers also wore face masks at all times. In times like this, it’s very assuring when you see restaurants take such priority in maintaining the SOPs for the safety of their patrons.

If you’re interested, they also offer a bunch of promotions if you prefer to eat in the comfort of your home and have the food delivered to your doorstep instead! Do check out their Facebook page for more information.
