This might just be the newest member of the Paw Patrol team!
On 24 May, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) posted a video on their Facebook page on the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) which commenced on May 23 and will end on May 27.
The video features a black robotic dog moving about on flat ground and on its back, sits the flag of Malaysia.
There was even an instance at the beginning of the video where the “dog” was staring and posing for the camera.
Many passersby were watching the robot dog trot around. The video was uploaded with a little riddle:
“What has four legs but is not an animal, can detect and destroy bombs and put out fires but is not a human?”
Even though PDRM said that they will unveil the answer at LIMA, we’re sure that the correct response is the dog!
Many netizens were in awe after seeing how life-like the robot is.
“After seeing it jump and act cute, I wanted to pat it on the back.”
“It’s not human but it can dance,” commented a user.
However, others were afraid of it for the same reason.
One netizen said that they were “scared” while another said that they would run if they ever see the robot at night.
It turns out that this doggo is made by Ghost Robotics, an American company. Further down south, our neighbour Singapore also has a robot dog but it is by a different company named Boston Dynamics.
We’re not entirely sure if the dog will be part of PDRM but we definitely think that they will be a big help!
