15-year-old Yap Xin Yuan who went missing in Cheras last month was confirmed dead by PDRM yesterday (January 2) after positive DNA results. The funeral took place this morning (January 3), and Xin Yuan’s sister managed to pen a heartbreaking post before the funeral.
“We’ll be good sisters again in the next life”
Following the news of Xin Yuan’s father who accepted fate before the release of the DNA results, Xin Yuan’s younger sister has since expressed her desire to be sisters again in the next life.
“As for now, please be happy up there and eat as much as you can. I’ll be your sister, forever.”
“I’ll think of you forever, and I’ll take care of the family now. Can you appear in my dreams every night? I really miss you.”
In her heartfelt post, she also reminisced about the time spent with Xin Yuan and assured her that she had done a good job as an irreplaceable sister. She also apologised to Xin Yuan for taking her things before without admitting it.
“We fought sometimes, but one candy from you was enough to cheer me up.”
“If you want to come home anytime, please do so. We’ll always be here for you. Thank you for everything. We’ll be good sisters again in the next life. Rest in peace, sister.”
In a report by China Press, Xin Yuan’s father confirmed that his daughter was cremated this morning. According to the grieving father, Xin Yuan had 2 other younger sisters.
“I could barely recognise her before she was cremated. All I can do is accept that she is gone forever.”
Yap Xin Yuan’s decomposing body was found at the garbage gate at a river in Banting. Her 16-year-old boyfriend admitted to having disposed of her body there with the help of 2 other suspects, his elder brother and father. The deceased never returned home after telling her mum that she would be out for a lion dance practice on December 19, 2024.
At the time being, all 3 suspects are still being detained for further investigations.
