Taking to Twitter, this netizen shared a video of how a Pakistani man tried to pay off his e-hailing fare with fake money, shedding light on a serious issue that involves fraud and potentially legal consequences.
In the beginning, the e-hailing driver, who drove the man to his location, did not notice anything wrong with the hundred ringgit note given to him.
“This paper is nothing like those coming from banks. Even the smell is different.”
With the passenger’s boss arriving at the scene. They then took turns sniffing the cash and confirmed that it was indeed a fake.

He said, “I can’t allow him to give me this money. I picked him up from Labu. I can’t allow him to pay me with RM400 that’s fake.”
“I might have to charge him double for this. It is a good thing I noticed this.’
The passenger, who realised the mistake, started calling a friend, who apparently gave him the money for further details on how it was a fake.
The video ended with the discussion still underway. We would like to advise members of the public if or when you are given fake cash, especially in huge amounts like this.
