Firefighters from the Renggam Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Renggam) successfully captured a crocodile at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Dato’ Rahman Andak, Simpang Renggam, on Saturday.
BBP Renggam Operations Commander, Senior Fire Officer II Ahmad Syawal, said they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 8:15 am.

According to him, upon receiving the call, a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) vehicle along with six personnel was dispatched to the location, which was 15 kilometres away.
“Upon arrival at 8:35 am, a four-foot-long crocodile was found within the school compound. The incident was first noticed by the school’s security guard, who then informed a teacher. The fire department was subsequently contacted for assistance.”
“Firefighters managed to capture the crocodile using a snare. Fortunately, no students were present at the school during the incident,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Syawal said they were unable to determine where the reptile came from, but it is believed to have wandered into the school grounds by accident.
He added that the fire department has contacted the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) for further action.
“For the time being, the crocodile is being kept at the fire station,” he said.
