Cats are probably one of the sassiest and most mischievous animals we know, and their videos are always the funniest!

In a recently viral video posted on Instagram by minhau_pet, we see a cat springing onto the track of the Fuling Baiheliang Half Marathon (held in Chongqing) from the sidelines.

At that time, the leading runner was running towards the finish line, and they nearly collided if not for the cat’s fast reflexes.

As there was no exit for the feline to take, he quickly sprang forward and started running towards the finish line instead, effectively taking the position of the leading runner.

The gap widened between them, and not long after, the cat reached the finish line but could not break the finisher banner due to its lower and tinier stature.

Soon after, the human, Wang Wanfu, reached the finish line with a time of 1:08:36 to complete the half-marathon (21km), as reported by China News.

Many netizens in the comments said that the cat is the true winner who deserves a medal, while others said that the cat cheated his way into the final 100 metres of the race.
