Many jobs nowadays require one to have a minimum of a diploma and a degree for the most part.

Recently, a vocational college in Sichuan has gone viral with its job posting for a security officer.

In their posting, they stated that they were looking for 2 security officers and they must have been born in the year 1988 or later. They are also required to hold a Master’s degree, however, exceptions can be made for retired military officers or a public security degree-holder.

This posting has caused a huge ruckus in the Chinese social media sphere as people are questioning why a Master’s degree is needed for a security officer and if they are part of the teaching staff as well, reported China Press.

Since it has caused such a commotion, the school clarified that the post is not like a security guard but rather, it’s an administrative post where one needs to monitor campus security, household registration management, entry and exit management, fire safety management, traffic safety management and school gate management among other things.

Other than that, the school also boasted by saying that except for doctors in the medical office who only need a bachelor’s degree, all other positions in the school require a graduate degree or above.

That sounds like hard work, we wonder if the remuneration is worth the work that needs to be put in.
