UPDATE: Year-End School Holidays For SPM Students Will Be Shortened To Only 13 Days This Year

Parents and school students alike, please take note! The new and updated school calendar for 2020 has been released by the Ministry of Education, which includes the number of schooling days for students in the remainder of the year, and most importantly, the amount of holidays allotted for students as well.

According to the updated school calendar which reflects the days students have been absent from school due to the Movement Control Order, the remainder of schooling days and school holidays have been broken down according to the following:

1. Group A (Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu)

  • Remaining days of school left: 119 days
  • Number of days for semester break (20th August 2020 – 24th August 2020): 5 days
  • Number of days for year-end holiday (18th December 2020 – 31st December 2020): 14 days

2. Group B (Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan, Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya)

  • Remaining days of school left: 119 days
  • Number of days for semester break (20th August 2020 – 24th August 2020): 5 days
  • Number of days for year-end holiday (19th December 2020 – 31st December 2020): 13 days

Please note that as of now, this new academic calendar applies only to those who will be returning to school on 24th June 2020, which includes students who are taking SPM, STPM, SVM, STAM, and other equivalent examinations.
