It’s never easy to deal with the loss of a loved one. It may have happened last month or last year but regardless, it’ll feel just like yesterday.
Just last week, an uncle had to witness a horrific accident in a Kopitiam during breakfast, which took away the life of his wife. The accident shocked him and rendered him unable to move or speak for the next 2 hours. The uncle, Mr. Tan made it clear that no amount of compensation can make up for the loss and grief that he is painfully going through.
“I just want my wife back”
Imagine spending decades of your life with someone you love and one day, the person is gone. For Mr. Tan, all he wants is just for his wife to come back.
“Even if I was offered RM1 million, I wouldn’t want it. I just want my wife back. Who’s going to take care of me now that she’s gone?”
Grieving is not an easy or short-term process, and Tan is not trying to hide the fact that the process is too tough for him.
“I’ve cried, until I can’t anymore. Who’s going to yumcha with me now?”
During the incident, Tan was having breakfast with his wife at a Kopitiam in Bahau, Negeri Sembilan. A 74-year-old driver accidentally crashed into the Kopitiam and killed Tan’s wife in the process. Tan revealed that the driver’s son had personally approached him to apologise for the accident, reported Guang Ming Daily.
Of course, despite the apology, Tan is nowhere near recovering from the loss, and no one should expect him to do so.
“What use does it make now? My wife is gone. Who’s going to yumcha with me now every morning?”
Tan has limited mobility as he uses a wheelchair to move around. On the fateful morning, Tan’s wife was seated in front of him and said that he wouldn’t have made it out alive if they had sat next to each other.
The funeral was held yesterday (November 28).
Our thoughts and prayers go the Tan’s family, and we hope the presence of his family members will ease things for him.
