A trailer driver endured a terrifying ordeal on Friday, 24 October, when he was abducted by three men and taken 34 kilometers from Bentong to Raub, before being left by the roadside with his hands bound and eyes blindfolded.
According to Harian Metro, Raub District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Shahril Abdul Rahman said the incident, which occurred around 11:30 PM, was discovered by a passerby who found the victim tied up and calling for help near Taman Sri Wawasan, Raub.

āA team of police patrol officers then brought the victim to the Raub District Police Headquarters (IPD) for further action,ā he said in a statement tonight.

He added that initial investigations revealed the 37-year-old victim works as a trailer driver, transporting iron from Balakong, Selangor to Gua Musang, Kelantan.
The victim had reportedly stopped at a roadside stall near the Bentong-Raub border to shower and change clothes before being attacked.
āAfter showering, the victim was approached by three men who tied his hands using cable ties and forced him into a car. After about an hour, he was dropped off near Taman Sri Wawasan with his eyes covered using black adhesive tape.”
Investigations revealed that the groupās main motive was to steal the trailer carrying the iron cargo.

āThe victim did not sustain any injuries and is currently in stable condition. The case is being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang robbery,ā he added.
Mohd Shahril also advised the public to remain vigilant, especially when stopping in remote areas at night.
āAny information related to the incident or suspicious individuals can be reported directly to the Raub District Police Operations Room at 09-355 2222,ā he said.
