A viral video on Facebook shows a trailer carrying multiple luxury cars catching fire near the R&R at Genting Sempah, Pahang.
The video, shared by Facebook user Mohd Shahid shows the front part of the trailer engulfed in flames and according to the caption, he noticed the fire around 11:37 PM last night (June 4) on the Karak Highway heading towards the east coast near Genting Highlands, and only 500 meters away from the Genting Sempah R&R.
The trailer was parked on the emergency lane, which caused traffic congestion after the left lane was closed by the authorities.
The Pahang Fire and Rescue Department said they received a report about the matter around 11:23 PM last night, and firefighters arrived at the scene at 11:50 PM.
The fire was successfully contained by 1:05 AM
The front part of the trailer was completely damaged by the blaze. The vehicles that the trailer was transporting are listed below,
- Lexus Harrier SUV
- 3 Toyota Alphard SUV
- Honda Stepwagon
Most of the luxury cars were not affected by the fire except the Lexus Harrier SUV, which sustained about 20% damage. During the fire, there was only a male driver in the trailer, who escaped unharmed.
Following the extinguishing of the fire, the left lane was reopened to the public by 1:16 AM.
No death or injury was reported in the case.
