Traffic Halts as M’sian Gets Dragged Out of Car in the Middle of Johor Road & is Attacked by 7 Men

In recent news, the police have arrested 7 men believed to have assaulted a 39-year-old man near Senai International Airport after a video of the incident began circulating online.

Kulai District Police posted a statement on Facebook explaining that, after their investigation, they discovered the incident took place outside a gas station on October 7 at around 1:30 PM.

The victim filed a police report

In response to the victim’s report, from 8 PM on October 7 to 12:30 AM on October 8, a team of police officers from the D7 unit of IPK Johor, along with personnel from BSJD IPD Kulai, carried out raids in Skudai and Johor Bahru.

This operation resulted in the arrest of 7 local men, aged between 25 and 40. Additionally, the police successfully seized 2 vehicles, remote control tools, 4 mobile phones, and 2 rattan sticks.

4 out of 7 suspects had prior criminal and drug offences

After reviewing the suspects’ records, it was found that 4 of them have a history of criminal and drug offences.

Initial police investigations indicate that the incident started from a disagreement between the victim and one of the suspects, who is currently still at large.

The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code, which stipulates that convicted offenders could face imprisonment for up to 5 years, a fine, or both. It is also being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code, where convicted offenders may be fined or imprisoned for up to 2 years, or both.

Suspects’ request for remand has been granted

Remand has been requested for all suspects, and approval for a 4-day remand has been granted from October 8 to October 11 to continue the investigation.

The Kulai District Police urges the public to act within the law. Strict measures will be enforced to ensure legal compliance, and anyone found intentionally violating the law will face consequences.
