No matter which Asian country you are from, you are bound to have some version of chicken rice and most of us will have that one place we like to go to to enjoy a plate or two. Our love for chicken and rice is strong and whenever someone introduces a version that combine the two, surely we will go crazy.
Well, since KFC is a staple chicken meal in Malaysia, this chicken rice recipe from a Japanese website might be worth a try. Yes, you read that correctly. Since the website is in Japanese, I will try my best to explain the steps to cook chicken rice with KFC chicken.
Well firstly, just like any other rice dishes, you need to wash the rice properly and fill up the rice cooker with rice, some soy sauce and ample chicken stock. Then place a piece or two of KFC’s original recipe chicken inside.
Cook the rice a usual and when the rice is done, take off the lid to release a whiff of delicious smelling chicken rice. The person who shared the recipe mentioned that this is when you remove the bones from the chicken and mix it together with the rice.
He also said that you can add salt and pepper to taste before serving. According to him, this way of cooking will produce a rice dish that is rich in flavour of herb and spices that comes from the chicken. Even the chicken flesh is juice and soft. *Drooling*
The only thing that is missing from this recipe is the measurements of all the ingredients. However, it is simple enough that you can cook it without a proper recipe. Just agak-agak je!
