Is it THAT important to imitate the lifestyle of the rich and famous when the truth is, you can’t really afford it?
Public figures and celebrities are sometimes known for living a fancy lifestyle. Be that as it may, Malaysian model, actress, and businesswoman, Zarina Anjoulie recently revealed in an interview with Astro Gempak that things are not as perfect as it seems. According to Zarina, many celebrities are living a fabricated lifestyle.
“Many Malaysian celebrities want to show off things they don’t have. What people don’t understand is many of the celebrities are on loan with the loan sharks.”
Zarina, fondly known as Anju also revealed that fanatics tend to follow their lavish lifestyle and trap themselves in the same footsteps – borrowing money from here and there just to look fancy, which baffled her.
“Many celebrities flaunt their wealth but I don’t know how many of them have gone bankrupt.”
“I am broke sometimes, and that’s okay!”
Anju, who runs a business admitted that at one point, she, too, was struggling financially but it never crossed her mind to flaunt a fake wealth. To her, that is just a point of life that some people will go through.

As for the celebrities who are broke, Anju said it was okay to live in a mediocre state.
“As a celebrity, it’s okay if you’re driving a Myvi! Many followers are spending beyond their means just because they are influenced by the lavish lifestyle.”
Showing off what you don’t have may feel good but the superficial feelings won’t last long. Do you really want to end up in debt just to flaunt your life to others who probably don’t care?
