It looks like fashion is taking inspo from everyday life again!
Recently, Saucony released an avocado toast-inspired sneaker but Mothership pointed out that it looks very familiar to a delicacy which we, Asians, are familiar with.
They wrote that the sneaker reminded them of the famous Pandan cake which we all love to have with some teh tarik during teatime. If you don’t believe us, here’s a side by side comparison for you to judge:
Besides that, a fellow netizen also pointed out that the similarity as well. Do you agree with the netizen?
FYI, the sneaker is named “Men’s Shadow 6000 avocado toast” and it comes with a description which reads,
“Holy Saucamole! Celebrate your health kick with the delicacy of the exclusive ‘Avocado Toast’ Shadow 6000. Featuring toast-ed leather, smashed avocado textured suede, red pepper flake collar lining and the ‘Saucamole’ shout out on the heel. It’s everything you avo-wanted, even if the guac is extra.”
That description sounds almost delicious!
Even though it’s a men’s shoe, they are also available in women sizes and they cost USD130 (approx RM500) per pair.
Unfortunately, if you’re thinking of getting the Avocado Pandan cake sneaker, you may want to know that they are out of stock and Saucony doesn’t ship outside of the US. Awh! 🙁
