Foreigner travel YouTubers and influencers often like to make Malaysia their destination of choice thanks to our gorgeous sceneries, amazing food and hospitable people.
For a Taiwanese YouTuber and her partner, it was the Malaysian people’s hospitality that ended up making her cry during her recent trip to Sabah.
Taking to her YouTube and Instagram page, Zoebitalk肉比頭 shared how the motorcycle that she and her partner were using to travel through Sabah had ended up with a flat tyre on a remote road. Though, thankfully, a Malaysian man passed by and stopped to help transport them (and their motorcycle) to a nearby town.
In her Instagram post, she wrote, “Busting a tyre in the mountains, being made to cry by Malaysians.”
In her video, she and her partner could be seen inspecting their flat tyre by the side of a deserted road in Sabah.
As they wondered what they were going to do, a white pickup truck showed up and stopped, with the driver immediately getting down from the vehicle to offer his help.
The Malaysian man then moved his pickup truck so that it would be easier for them to carry the motorcycle onto the pickup truck’s bed. There were other people sitting at the pickup truck’s bed, but they easily accommodated the Taiwanese duo and their motorcycle.
As they then travelled to the nearby town from the back of the pickup truck, Zoebitalk肉比頭 started to cry from observing just how amazing the driver and his passengers were in assisting them without a second thought.
When they arrived at a workshop, Zoebitalk肉比頭 attempted to offer the pickup truck’s driver some money.
It turns out that the group in the pickup were heading to work and had been travelling on the road for half an hour when they encountered the stranded duo.
Hence, helping to send them to a workshop took another half an hour, and they had to head back on their journey to work again, which would take another half an hour.
Feeling bad for disrupting their journey to work, Zoebitalk肉比頭 tried to hand the man some money but he quickly refused it and handed the money back to her.
“No, no, because we are Malaysian. This is my village.”
At this point, Zoebitalk肉比頭 started tearing up again.
“It’s okay, it’s okay, don’t (cry), don’t (cry),” the Malaysian man added before they said their goodbyes and went on their way. Okay, we’re also crying now.
Kudos to the abang and his friends in Sabah for helping the duo!
