The actions of Matt Healy, the frontman of The 1975 caused the government to announce the cancellation of the entire Good Vibes Festival (GVF).
This left plenty of fans extremely disappointed and other acts and vendors who had been preparing for the festival and wasted valuable time and money.
As a result, it seems that Malaysian fans, celebrities, and fellow artists are showing their displeasure through negative comments posted on Matt Healy’s and The 1975’s Instagram posts.
“Please read the contract before you agree to perform in Malaysia or any other country. If you are too busy to even bother about the laws and regulations, let the managers do the sh*t,” said a netizen.
Another commented, “You reek of entitlement, disrespect and immaturity. A country with its laws does not directly represent the people or where they want their society to go.”
“You have put shame on your country and the whole music scene.”
“This is no longer about values, but rather a pure disrespect to your fans and the culture from others, ” said a netizen.
