The Ministry of Health’s (MOH) National Blood Centre (PDN) is currently conducting a 36-hour blood donation drive in conjunction with the Thaipusam celebration. The campaign is located in front of the Batu Caves temple in Gombak, Selangor, and runs from 31 January to 2 February.
Targeting 2,200 bags, PDN announced that as of 2:00 PM today (1 February), it has nearly reached the halfway mark with 1,006 bags collected!

Taking to its official Facebook page, PDN welcomed everyone, regardless of race or religion, to participate in the campaign. It further clarified that the collected blood will be supplied to hospitals throughout the Klang Valley.
In a separate update, PDN thanked those who have already donated and shared a photo of the blood bags being processed in their laboratory. The post reads:

“Our laboratory is currently conducting a blood cell separation process before the blood is stored and distributed to hospitals in need.
“Following the current low stock levels, the public is urged to come forward and donate blood to ensure a sufficient supply. Demand for blood at hospitals continues to rise and must remain adequate at all times.”

According to PDN, the Thaipusam 2026 Blood Donation Campaign is situated under the MRR2 flyover, directly in front of the Batu Caves temple entrance
