Recently, there were reports that a Thai woman was assaulted by a “Datuk Seri” whilst having a meal in a restaurant in Klang. Although the police revealed that they are investigating the claim, no arrest has been made as of yet.

In an interview with China Press, yesterday (16 December), the Thai woman broke her silence about the case and shared her side of the story in a bid to seek justice.

Speaking to China Press, the 23-year-old woman said that she had gone to the seafood restaurant for dinner with her friends on the 9th of December.

However, around 12am, a group of people entered the area they were in. She described the leader as a Chinese man in a blue shirt and a white hat.

“My friends and I were very scared because these men looked fierce and blocked the door, preventing us from leaving the (area).”

She then revealed that the man first tried to assault her friend who when resisting, was slapped several times.

The man approached her next, and although she tried dodging his attempts after seeing what had happened to her friend, she was unsuccessful.

“As I tried to yell, the man hit my face with his elbow at least 6 times. He told me, ‘If you don’t shut up and be quiet, I’ll show you how great I am!’”

She also added that the man looked drunk at the time, but not very drunk.

The woman mentioned that his assault on her had injured her nose and it was bleeding profusely. Her friends helped her stop the bleeding with tissue papers.

By the time her boyfriend came to help, the group had already left. She mentioned that only 1 employee from the restaurant was at the scene and that they were apologising profusely.

She was also confident that she remembered the person although she was panicking and scared at the time. The woman also said that this was the first time she had been assaulted in Malaysia after being here for 3 years.

The assault had supposedly “disfigured” her face and left small scars. She and her boyfriend have given a statement to police as they hope that they will be able to bring him to justice.

Additionally, they have apparently been receiving calls and messages and suspect that it is the assailant trying to contact them.

We hope that the police investigation will be a success and that the man will be brought to justice.
