Earlier this month, Terengganu PAS Exco Haji Hanafiah Mat received backlash for allegedly making a mockery out of a Menu Rahmah meal after he poured orange juice into the food in an attempt to ‘make it taste better’.

Now, he’s making headlines once again, also for the wrong reasons.

Taking to his TikTok page, he showcased his efforts in helping the underprivileged. You would think that that’s a good thing, right? Well, he apparently was giving out fishes to residents living under the Program Perumahan Rakyat Termiskin (PPRT), without even placing the fishes into containers.

He wrote, “When the people’s affairs are settled, we try to create something to benefit them. I can give one (fish) to each household of PPRT residents in Paya Berenjut, Kampung Besut 2 and Bakau Tinggi to break their fasts.”

In the TikTok video, he could be seen handing out the fishes that have been kept in a cooler in the booth of a car, holding the fishes by the tail and giving one each to PPRT households.

Netizens have since pointed out that the way the fishes were handed out should be considered insulting

Fish 1

“Never in my life have I seen people giving fishes like this.”

Fish 2

“Even when buying fishes at a night market, people will give in plastic bags. It’s like he’s giving fishes to cats.”

Fish 3

“Give la in containers, it’s more polite. You’re a YB, treat your people with manners.”

Fish 4

“The people in his area have been insulted just like that.”

#ybc #fyp #2023 #ramadan

How do you think he should have handed out the fishes? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
