You’ve heard of the various ways gangs recruit potential members, but one kid experienced first-hand the brutal ways of the secret societies’ recruitment.

The victim, a 15-year-old high school student was brutally beaten as he refused an invitation to join a gang.

This said tragedy happened on Friday at Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, where 12 gang members entered the school vicinity and was actively recruiting potential members.

According to Kwong Wah News, the victim refused their invitation and subsequently got beaten up. He was then threatened by the gangsters and was told to keep quiet.

The victim was invited to join the gang on Friday 12.40pm, but after refusing their invitation, he was brought to the school’s vicinity and beaten.

According to the victim, the gang members were armed with knifes and sharp tools. As soon as he rejected their request, he was held by the gang members, and then beaten by several other armed gangsters with wooden sticks, umbrellas, helmets and fire extinguisher.

As quoted by the victim:

”They also burnt my face with lit cigarette butts, poked my throat with the umbrella’s edge and also shoved my face down a bucket of water.”

The torture doesn’t end here, according to the battered student, immediately after the beating he was forced to film an apology video to the gang leader. The gangsters then threatened to kill him if he report them to the police.

Shortly after being abandoned by the gangsters, he was saved by a classmate who quickly aided him with his escape. However he was chased by the gangsters who were made aware of his escape. The victim then subsequently seek shelter in a mobile phone shop, but he was turned away by the shopkeeper.

He was eventually saved by another classmate who got him home safe. The victim then lodged a report and was hospitalized.

The victim lastly said that the gangsters aren’t afraid of getting locked up, they could be imprisoned for multiple days and after they are released, the victim would suffer their wrath.

It’s daunting how gangsters are terrorizing the country, especially during a Datuk’s death which shook the nation a few months ago.
