Stray Cat Dies After It Was Brutally Beaten By Person Who Tried To Break A Cat-Fight Up

A cat was brutally beaten until it became limp in an attempt to breakup a fight with a house cat, wrote Siakap Keli. Rumah Kucing Banjarmasin shared a series of Instagram stories on Tetew, a cat which was adopted by the people who lived in the area, who was whacked until it was limp by a new tenant.

The netizen wrote that the weapon which was used to beat Tetew wasn’t that huge, but it was enough to severely injure the cat. The person said that during the incident, they were drying their clothes when they saw the new neighbour hitting something. But, at that point, the person didn’t realise that it was Tetew that was getting beaten. The person was quoted as saying,

“During the incident, I was drying my clothes and I couldn’t see Tetew, so I didn’t know that it was Tetew that was getting hit. I feel so guilty.”

“I should have helped Tetew. I feel heavy-hearted whenever I think about what had happened to Tetew.”

What’s even more surprising is that the new neighbour who whacked Tetew is actually a cat owner. The netizen continued,

“What’s weird is that the person who hit Tetew is actually a cat owner. Oh, maybe it’s because their cat is an expensive breed and Tetew is just a normal stray cat.”

The netizen was clearly angry at their neighbour for the heinous act but the IG post didn’t reveal if a police report was lodged. Sadly, Tetew couldn’t fight through and took its last breath as it gave in to the pain.

After a confrontation with the person who beat up Tetew, the person said that they were only trying to break up a cat-fight by beating Tetew using a PVC pipe. Well, that still doesn’t give the person a reason to beat a stray cat until it became limp. 

It’s really heartbreaking to see an innocent animal get treated so unfairly; instead of resorting to violence, the person could have just sprayed some water at the cats because that would have stopped the fight.

RIP, Tetew!
