A customer and a staff member at a Malaysian eatery got into a heated argument, allegedly over the usage of languages.
A 17-second video of the incident, shared by the Travel Jimat X page, shows a customer and staff member shouting at each other about the customer’s preference of using English over Bahasa Malaysia (BM).

Travel Jimat wrote, “Admitting that he’s a Malaysian but cannot use Bahasa Malaysia, and he’s proud of it. (He’s) lacking basic self-awareness. In the end, the 2 Malay kids may get fired.”
“I don’t know how to speak Malay”

It is unknown how the dispute started, as the video shows the argument already in full swing.
In the video, however, the customer could be heard yelling at the staff member, causing the staff member to say something inaudible while pointing a finger at the customer.
“I don’t know how to speak Malay, I speak English,” the customer said loudly, in BM.

“This is Malaysia,” the staff member replied in BM, with his finger still pointed at the customer, leading the customer to yell, “So what?” before giving the staff members the middle finger and walking away.
Another staff member could also be seen behind the counter while the argument was happening.
WORLD OF BUZZ has since reached out to the restaurant chain for a statement but has yet to hear back.
