A Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidate was found dead in her bedroom at her house in Negeri Sembilan, less than a month before the examination was to commence.
In an official statement by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) last night (12 October), the police officers at the Kuala Klawang Police Station received a call on 11 October at 11:50 PM from the Jelebu Hospital regarding the discovery of the deceased in her bedroom.

The incident took place in the deceased’s house in Kuala Klawang, Jelebu, Negeri Sembilan.

According to Negeri Sembilan Police Chief, Datuk Alzafny Bin Ahmad, the deceased, a female student, locked the bedroom door from the inside. She was staying with her family members.
Preliminary investigations showed no signs of struggles and defensive wounds, and police did not find any signs of a break-in as the deceased’s personal belongings were still in the bedroom.

At the time of writing (13 October), PDRM has classified the case as a sudden death, as no criminal elements were found.
PDRM also urged the public not to spread unverified information about the matter to protect the sensitivity of the family.
