After years of investigation, we can’t believe that this day has finally come!

As reported by The Star and FMT, a Singapore court has ordered SGD$15.3 million (approx. RM46 million) to be returned to the Malaysian government. This sum of money is just a small portion of the total money seized by the Singaporean government when they were investigating the scandalous 1MDB case years ago.

It was understood that the money was misappropriated from 1MDB and will be transferred into a special 1MDB recovery bank account in Kuala Lumpur, according to the Singapore-based law firm, Tan, Rajah & Cheah.

“Efforts to recover other unlawfully misappropriated assets are ongoing,” the law firm that represents the Malaysian government in Singapore said.

Singapore and five other countries are currently working hard to trace the complex transactions that have triggered investigations in at least 10 countries. Also, Tun Mahathir is looking to get back the RM143 million Bombardier Global 5000 jet that is currently parked in Singapore. It was reported that the owner of the private jet is the infamous financier Low Taek Jho, or fondly known by Malaysians as Jho Low.

This is certainly some refreshing news to hear as the rakyat have been told too many times before that 1MDB was squeaky clean and free of wrongdoings. Kipidap Tun!
