There was recently an incident where a woman in Dengkil died of a heart attack after she was allegedly chased by some stray dogs.
Many people took to social media to express their concerns over the incident and condemned stray dogs, while there were some that said the incident was somewhat untrue.
But now, the Malaysia Animal Association has stepped forward with a statement revealing that they have a witness who shared how the dogs should not be blamed as they did not chase the lady.

They wrote, “There is no denying that the death of this woman is said to be due to the disturbance of dogs barking. A witness who lives nearby came forward to confirm that they saw the woman walking while some dogs were barking loudly. The woman then collapsed and was pronounced dead of a heart attack as the dogs were barking. This woman was not killed by an attack or a dog bite and no injuries were reported.”
This incident has reignited the hatred towards stray dogs.
“What is unfortunate is that this incident was used as an excuse for street dog antagonists to hate and blame stray dogs for causing allegedly causing harm and danger to the community.”
After all, someone with existing heart problems could end up getting a heart attack from anything that can be shocking or loud.
“What if a heart patient walks past a dog owner’s house? Can a dog be blamed for barking from inside the house, in defence of preserving the interests of his master’s property? Would the death of a heart patient in front of a dog owner’s house be also due to the dog barking?” they added.
They concluded that the death of the woman should no way be considered murder by stray dogs as it was an accident.
