18-year-old girl, Hu Yien, who was recently reported missing in Penang, has been confirmed safe by her mother.
Yien previously shared a video on Facebook, claiming that she had to endure a lot of scoldings at home and saying that her childhood was filled with many unhappy memories. In a report by Oriental Daily, Yien’s mother confirmed that she received a text from the former around 4 PM yesterday (June 29), saying that she had checked into a hotel in Johor Bahru, Johor, where she was waiting for her boyfriend, who works in Singapore.

At the moment, her mother has no plans to look for Yien but hopes that her boyfriend will manage to convince her to go home and reconsider her decision to be out there.
“I care about her safety the most. Since she had told me that she was safe, I had withdrawn my report at the police station.”
Yien’s mother also thanked those who had been helping in the search for her daughter.

Yien left her house with her passports and was seen boarding a red car, with the identity of the driver unknown. A day after a missing person’s report was filed, Yien said that she was safe and sound but wouldn’t reveal her location as she didn’t want her family members to find her.
She claimed that she was mistreated at home throughout the years and wanted to live on her own now that she is 18 years old.
