On 4 September, CIMB collaborated with Poptron to host The #ExtraNotOrdinary bazaar from 4 to 10 September at The Boulevard, Publika Shopping Gallery. The #ExtraNotOrdinary bazaar was launched to celebrate local micro-businesses in the road to their recovery impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak.
In hopes of elevating 100 micro-businesses, Poptron developed its own social e-commerce platform to encourage cashless transaction and CIMB included its own contribution by providing rewards to customers with using their newly launched CIMB e Credit Card.
Despite her first hosting gig since the Movement Control Order, Jenn Chia, YouTube personality, hosted the launch event successfully. She invited the CIMB Managing Director, Regional Head Consumer, Wealth & Preferred, Pak Budiman Tanjung and Founder and CEO of Poptron, Brian Johnson Lowe, to the stage to explain how their collaboration came about. They explained how they’ve become a match made in heaven due to them being completely supportive of local micro-businesses and wish for them to be discovered easily.
“We support microbrands because we are fans and want them to have easy access to customers”
They also highlighted these micro-businesses are ethically conscious in making their products and are purely handmade. The discussion also included a presentation on a guide for how to use the newly Poptron’s social e-commerce platform. Also, by using the CIMB e Credit Card, it will give benefits for online shoppers to shop at Poptron up to 15% discount.
The launch event wouldn’t be complete without including an incredible performance by the one and only Kl’s rap sensation, Zamaera. Donned in Amanda Brown’s designer couture made out of 250 CIMB e Credit Card, Zamaera looked absolutely stunning on stage while performing LilAsianThiccie and Zamaera’s “Get Munni” and her own remix to Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now”. Sharifah Amani and her sister, Sharifah Aleysha, were also present during the launch event.
The bazaar and Poptron’s new social e-commerce platform feature an array of curated lifestyle brands and products to celebrate and pay tribute to local business in conjunction with Merdeka Day.
Support local guys and check out the bazaar as it will end pretty soon!
