Residents in Cyberjaya have expressed frustration over a group of individuals who allegedly create disturbances late at night by setting off fireworks in residential areas.

According to a post shared on Threads, a man confronted a group who were reportedly playing with fireworks and firecrackers near the neighbourhood until approximately 2 AM to 3 AM.

In the post, the man could be heard telling them to move elsewhere and to be more considerate of others living in the area.

“You shouldn’t be doing this here. Go somewhere else. Don’t you realise people’s children are trying to sleep? Some of us have to work tomorrow and wake up early for sahur,” he said.

He also urged the group to use some common sense, noting that the area is densely populated and such behaviour causes unnecessary distress.

Disturbing the local community

In addition to the fireworks, the group reportedly revved their engines, creating significant noise pollution. Several netizens, believed to be local residents, thanked the man for bravely confronting the group in person and for taking photos of their cars.

“Thank you, sir, for stepping in to warn them and for taking photos of their vehicles. It’s the same cars almost every day; I recognise them,” one user commented.

Residents also claimed that the loud noise from the vehicles’ exhausts, combined with the sound of firecrackers, has been severely affecting those living nearby.

“The sound of their cars revving is extremely loud. When they throw the firecrackers, we can even feel the vibrations inside our homes,” another resident noted.

Proximity to the hospital

He added that the disturbance has been particularly stressful for households with young children, elderly residents, and infants who are often startled by the sudden noises. Netizens further pointed out that the situation is even more concerning as the area is not only a residential neighbourhood but is also located near Hospital Cyberjaya.

In another viral Threads post, a baffled user questioned the group’s lack of consideration, claiming they had been setting off fireworks for several nights in a row.
