An educator’s responsibilities go way more than teaching the students. Their well-being and safety are part of a teacher’s job scope too when the students are still in school or the campus.
A lecturer at a local university recently went viral after his kindness was recorded by 1 of his students.
In a viral TikTok post by @heyashyaaziz, 1 of her classmates entered the lecture room carrying something you don’t expect to see in that setting.
The kind lecturer was holding the door for the student so that she could bring in her electric bike to “park” in the lecture hall. It was like valet parking, only it was FREE. Why didn’t the student just park her ride somewhere within the campus, or outside the classroom?
According to Ashya, the lecturer wanted to make sure the e-bike was there for the student when she needed it again. He was worried that it would get stolen by others if the e-bike was out of the owner’s sight.
In a conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Ashya said her classmate initially left the e-bike outside the lecture room, but her lecturer advised against it. According to Ashya, her lecturer believed that any other lecturer in the university would’ve done the same – ensuring the safety of their students’ belongings.
Ashya, who is currently studying at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) also told WORLD OF BUZZ that the lecturer also DID NOT expect the small gesture to go viral online, and while he is overwhelmed with the online reactions, to him, it shows nothing but a demonstration of kindness.
“The netizens are kind and generous. It has been a transformative experience for me, and I appreciate all the supportive comments.”
While the world may be thanking him for the meaningful gesture, he also thanked social media users for 1 little thing – teaching him about the impact of kindness and support. You can watch Ashya’s viral TikTok below.
